Smart-Card Reader Driver is the application-specific kernel-mode software, implemented as the keyboard filter driver. Interaction with Smart-Card Reader peripheral is implemented through a standard keyboard port, so the main purpose of SCARD is to provide interface between Smart-Card Reader peripheral and user-mode applications. The smart card readers can be  in the indirect way (f.e. through a keyboard port)

 

MultiKey Driver is a kernel-mode driver intended to handle the input from multiple keyboards connected to one PC via USB. The driver was developed as a part of multiple-keyboard processing system and is used from user-mode software via MultiKey ActiveX control. The MultiKey Driver was developed for Microsoft Windows 2000 environment. The system developed consists of a kernel-mode keyboard filter-driver and an ActiveX component.

 

Activated Archive is a new generation activating system developed by the British company, Connected Place Limited. AstroSoft has successfully completed the development of the kernel-mode subsystem (KS) for Activated Archive. The main function of the KS is to protect local Activated Archive data storage from being accessed by user processes. Two kinds of the KS were implemented for Windows 95/98 and for Windows NT environments.

 

Video surveillance system was developed for a German company. And in scope of this project a special kernel mode driver has been created for the frame grabber PCI card. It uses DMA, interrupts, and a special port mapped registers to work with this device. Windows XP 32bit driver was developed in scope of this project, and compatibility with Vista 32bit was checked.

 

AstroSoft has extended customer’s Smart Card filter driver and ported it from Windows XP to Windows Vista32 and Windows Vista64 platforms. Full Microsoft Logo testing, as well as extended unit testing, were performed under the scope of the project.
